SIMPLY PHO LAUNCHES BANH MI SUBS MADE WITH PIQUANT BAKERY BREAD THIS WEEKEND
The Popular, Traditional, and Historical Vietnamese Dish is an Important Part of Vietnamese Cuisine and Culture.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TAMPA, Fl. – August 31st, 2017 – This weekend Simply Pho & Grill, located in Carrollwood at 13149 North Dale Mabry Highway F in Tampa, will launch a Banh Mi Weekend Special starting on Friday, September 1st. The special will feature French bread baked by Piquant Bakery. Piquant Chefs, Rosana Rivera and Ricardo Castro, are well-known for providing great baked goods in Tampa.
The Banh Mi Special will be 12” and is homage to a popular, traditional, and historical Vietnamese dish. Banh Mi is a French baguette with a thin crunchy crust packed with a number of ingredients.
The sandwich was founded in the late 1800s after the French expanded into Indochina. Banh Mi rose to prominence after the end of French colonial rule in 1954 as street food stands began selling the dish and created their own interpretations of the sandwich. The migration of Vietnamese refugees after the Fall of Saigon created Vietnamese businesses that popularized the dish in the United States and spread from California across the country. Now you can find the dish all around the world including right here in Tampa at Simply Pho & Grill.
